Top Fictional Siblings – #NationalSiblingsDay

sib

Funny enough it was my sister that informed me about this ‘holiday’ but I doubt that she was telling me for my benefit and I look forward to seeing what tries to manipulate into doing but anyway that got me thinking about a few of my favourite fictional siblings. Although at times my sister and I argue and bicker, I am so lucky to have her and the impact that she’s had on my life (and hopefully the one I’ve had on her) is certainly beneficial and a powerful one; I don’t know what I’d do without her. This is the exact same for fictional siblings, they are always there for each other, they risk everything they have to protect them and without them, there would be a piece missing in their lives. There were so many to pick from so if I’ve missed any that you love then let me know in the comments.

The Weasleys in Harry Potter – I swear every ‘top’ something post I’ve done recently has included a member of the Weasley family but I think that is because they are a perfect family. I was just going to pick Fred and George as they are like to sides of the same coin but I’d be leaving out the others who all play an important role not only in the family but the books.

The Bennett Sisters in Pride and Prejudice – Mainly Jane and Elizabeth because they’re my favourite and I can’t stand Lydia (ugh). These two are extremely close and that probably what I love about them and their sisterly bond. They share secrets and defend one anther and encourage and support the other one’s happiness.

The Stark Children in Game Of Thrones – They are my favourite family (or what’s left of them) in the Game of Thrones series, as once again they are all extremely determined and brave and try to look out for each other. I can’t wait to see the hopefully reunite in season 7!

Damon and Stefan Salvatore in The Vampire Diaries – Eleanor was the one that got me hooked on the Vampire Diaries and from the first couple of episodes I fell in love with both brothers. Despite their arguments and differences, both are always there for each other and will risk their life to save the other.

Lucy, Edmund, Peter and Susan Pevensie in The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe – Admittedly I am basing my opinion of the Pevensie’s off the movie as I haven’t yet read all the books. Each sibling is unique and brings something new to the table when on their adventures in Narnia and will do anything for any other one of their siblings! #family4life

My Top 5 Favourite Authors

I thought I’d do something different from our usual book reviews and share with our follows my favourite authors and hopefully encourage some of you to pick up some of their books! Please feel free to share your favourite authors in the comments as we are always on the hunt for new authors and books!

  1. Sarah J Maas – The Queen of fantasy and the author of my favourite fantasy series ‘Throne of Glass’. All her books are action packed and will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole novel. Not forgetting her incredible and badass characters who I look forward to reading more about in ‘Empire of Storms’. I have also been lucky enough to meet her and she is one of the loveliest people ever!
  2. Leigh Bardugo – She was one of my favourites when I read the ‘Shadow and Bone’ series but after reading ‘Six of Crows’ she is now one of my all time favourites who I adore! Again her world building and characters are so unique and loveable and I am counting down the days until ‘Crooked Kingdom’ is released.
  3. Wilbur Smith – He’s probably an author that many of you havent heard of, nevertheless I think he is one of the greatest authors as his writing is so captivating and beautiful that it is hard to put one of his books down. He also wrote my all time favourite books ‘Eagle in the Sky’ and I can’t stress enough that everyone needs to read this book as not only is it incredible but truly heartbreaking.
  4. J.K.Rowling – Of course J.K.Rowling had to make an appearance on my list of favourite authors because her writing and storytelling is just so magical and without her we wouldn’t have such a brilliant and iconic book and movie series!
  5. Morgan Matson – She is one of my all time favourite contemporary authors as her books and characters are always so cute and are hard not to love. I recently read ‘The Unexpected Everything’ and I have to admit that it is one of my favourite books of this year and it certainly in my top 5 all time favourite contemporary novels. If you’re looking for a really lovely contemporary that will just warm your heart and make you feel all the feels and emotions then definitely pick up one of her novels!
