The Last 10 Books Tag & The Vincent Ehindero Blogger Award
As usual, things have been a bit chaotic this week, but Stephen and Riddhi have come to my rescue and very kindly tagged me in two different book tags! I haven’t heard of either of these tags, but after reading their answers, I knew I wanted to share my responses too! I don’t know about you, but I love a good old book tag, they are the perfect way to get to know everyone better, so I hope you enjoy reading my answers and learning a little more about me!
The Last 10 Books Tag

Last Book I Bought:
Ariadne by Jennifer Saint. This book has been on my radar for a while now and every time I see it’s incredible cover I fall more and more in love with it. The other day, I was ordering some bits off Amazon and blatantly refused to pay the £4.99 postage so I just had to spend more and treat myself to qualify for free delivery! As it turns out they forgot to send the item I actually needed so it looks like I’m just going to have to re-order and treat myself again to some more books! Whoops!
Last Book I Re-Read:
I recently re-read Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo as I wanted to refresh my memory before diving headfirst into the Shadow and Bone adaptation. It did just that, as well as reigniting my love and adoration for this series and the incredible world Leigh Bardugo has beautifully created! I’m well and truly obsessed now!
Last Book I Gave Up On:
I hate DNF’ing books, I feel guilty that I’ve missed something that others loved, and I feel terrible about abandoning someone’s passion project, I don’t care how long it takes me I will always finish a book! That being said I did almost give up on King of Scars…
It breaks my heart to admit it, but I didn’t love this book as much as Bardugo’s other Grishaverse adventures and I can’t put my finger on why. I don’t think it helped that I took almost a MONTH to finish it and that fact that April wasn’t a great reading month, but there was something slow about the storyline and I found myself struggling to finish it.
Last Book I Said I Read But Didn’t:
Let The Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist. I had to read this for my Gothic Literature module at university but the day before I was suffering from a self-inflicted hangover and couldn’t focus enough to get through it. Somehow I managed to confidently blag my way through a seminar and after hearing my classmates rave about how good it was I decided to give it a second chance! A pre-warning to vampire fans, this book is nothing like Twilight instead it’s a classic horror that will give you goosebumps.
Last Book I Wrote in the Margins Of:
There are only a handful of books that I’ve ever written in, and always in pencil because I not brave enough to commit with a permanent pen. One of those books is The Pursuit of Love by Nancy Mitford, a satirical narrative that follows an upper-class English family during the war and focuses on love, class and relationships. It’s a classic light-hearted storyline that recently got a fabulous BBC adaptation! I re-read this book earlier this year in anticipation for the adaptation and made notes of all the quotes and scenes that I was desperate to see come to life on screen.
Last Book That I Had Signed:
I miss book signings SO MUCH, it’s been far too long! The last book signing I went to was all the way back in 2016, where I met Cassandra Clare on her Lady Midnight book tour. I never see a line like it and I think we ended up queuing for just under two hours! But us Brits love a good queue and we spent those two hours getting to know the people in line with us and by the time we met Cassandra we had all exchanged numbers, socials and book theories. Even now our little group chat is still going strong and the magic of books still continues to surprise me and make my little heart flutter.
Last Book I Lost:
I don’t think I’ve ever lost a book? If I have then I’ve got no idea that it’s missing, whoops!
Last Book I Had to Replace:
Atonement by Ian McEwan and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. These are two of my all-time favourite books and they were so loved and battered that I thought it was time for a little upgrade!
Last Book I Argued Over:
I don’t think I’ve ever argued over a book but some of my university friends continue to tease me over my numerous Hunger Games editions. Teenage Amy adored this series, and I still love it but it doesn’t warrant having five copies of the same three books! We’re now down to two copies after donating two of them and gifting personalised copies to both of my friends for Christmas so that we’ll all always have a copy on our shelves!
Last Book You Couldn’t Find:
Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare! I haven’t marked this book as lost just yet, but I’ve searched everywhere and can’t seem to find it! This book is on my TBR for May, after months of me promising my sister that I’ll read it and I’m starting to run out of excuses! But maybe this is the universe’s way of telling me to read something else instead…

Riddhi’s Questions
Who is your favourite music artist?
The Queen herself, Miss Taylor Swift. Like many I’ve grown up with Taylor and I’m not embarrassed to admit that you’ll still catch me dancing around my room, hairbrush in hand, to some of her most iconic anthems.
Favourite month of the year?
I love Christmas and the entire month of December but I work in retail so it’s quite easy to get overwhelmed by all the festivities and chaos. So I’m going to pick October as not only is it my birthday month but I love autumn and the coziness that comes with it.
One thing people love about you/ notice about you?
I’d like to think that the first thing people notice about me is my smile! My daily aim is to make someone’s day a little brighter, and if I can do that with a smile and a positive attitude then that’s mission accomplished. Even with our masks on, I’m always smiling! I take great pride in that fact that you’ll always find me laughing or smiling at work, even on my bad days, and try my best to radiate love and positivity! Life is too short for negativity.
One fictional character you would die for?
Azriel. My batboy deserves a happy ending and I SWEAR if Sarah does give him a suitable ending then I’ll be heartbroken. Watching the people around you fall in love and move into the next chapters of their life is brutal so I will do everything in my power to protect him and make sure that he lives a long and happy life.
What are your hobbies?
My life at this moment in time consists of me working, blogging and reading so there’s not much time for other hobbies! However every week I try my best to get out the house and experience the beautiful countryside that I’m fortunate enough to call home. Whether if it’s in my running shoes or my walking boots, it’s just nice to take a moment and enjoy what nature has to offer and if I happen to stumble upon a country pub then that’s a bonus!
