The Halloween Creatures Book Tag

Happy Halloween! I’m a bit too old now to be going trick-or-treating but that doesn’t stop me from ‘celebrating’ Halloween, and by celebrating I mean sitting on the sofa eating lots of chocolate whilst watching something spooky! Anyway, I saw book tag this floating around the blogging community and thought it would be perfect for today!

Also, I’m SIX away from hitting 600 followers, so if you like what you see then please give me a follow! Anyway, I hope you enjoy and as always if you’ve done this tag then please leave a link in the comments as I love reading other peoples answers!

Witch: A magical character or book

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab. This is a wonderfully captivating read that takes place in a unique and complex world crafted with the upmost perfection and thought. There is no limits or bounds to Schwabs imagination, she has the ability to successfully transports readers to a world of chaos and magic. If you’re looking for a unique and fast paced fantasy adventure then this is the series for you!

Werewolf: The perfect book to read at night

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. This is the perfect book for that cosy winter evening, as you curl up on the sofa under your blanket with your cup of tea! Morgenstern includes every element you’d want in a book, a whirlwind romance, a beguiling mystery and peculiar characters that drive the story. This truly captivating adventure is proof that magic does exists. I know I always go on about this book but it truly is a masterpiece.

Frankenstein: A book that truly shocked you

Mistborn: The Final Empire. I don’t think its possible to do a book tag without mentioning the Mistborn series! Everything that happens in this series is unexpected, there were so many moments that left me speechless!

The Devil: A dark or evil character

The Darkling! He’s one of my favourite villains and words can’t describe how excited I am to see him in the new TV adaptation!

Grim Reaper: A character that never should have died

Where do I start? I don’t want to spoil anything so I’ll stick with the obvious which is Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Fred Weasley from Harry Potter. All of their deaths broke my heart, they all deserved their own happy ending!

Zombie: A book that made you hungry for more

A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J Maas. I’m beyond excited for A Court of Silver Flames and this book left us with so many unanswered questions that I need answering ASAP! I’m so excited to see more of Nesta and Cassian’s blossoming relationship and to see what Sarah has in store next for my favourite characters.

Gargoyle: A character that you would protect at all cost

Azriel from ACOMAF or Ronan from The Raven Boys. My mysterious and soft hearted boys who I love unconditionally! Sarah please be kind to Azriel in the next book, he deserves a happy ending.

Vampire: A book that sucked the life out of you

The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue by V.E. Schwab. This book ruined me and broke my heart in to millions of little pieces. Everything about it was beautiful, a true masterpiece! I’m still trying to find the words to express my love for this book but do keep your eyes peeled for a glistening review soon!

Ghost: A book that still haunts you

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde or Out of Love by Hazel Hayes. Both these books have stayed with me long after reading them, they are both beautifully written and intricately personal. Their words have the unique ability to come to life with their deep and thought provoking meaning that leaves you in awe.

Demon: A book that really scared you

The Shinning by Stephen King. I read this book whilst I was studying at university and loved it. In this case the book is better than the film and scared the living daylights out of me. I 100% agree with Joey, this book is scary enough to keep in the freezer!

Skeleton: A character you have a bone to pick with

Clary Fray from The Mortal Instruments. Earlier this year I re-read the first book in the series and realised just how annoying and selfish she really is, she needs a good shake and attitude adjustment! Admittedly she does get a little more bearable and mature as the series continues and goes through some good character development.

Mummy: A book you would preserve throughout time

Both Circe and Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller! I’ve fallen utterly in love with these books and her writing, so if you’ve yet to dive into her wonderful world of Greek Mythology then you’re seriously missing out. There’s just something poetic and real about her writing that brings these stories to life and I just can’t get enough.

Creepy Doll: A cover too scary to look at

The new ACOTAR covers…
