Autumn is my favourite time of the year, not only because it means I can finally crack out my cosy jumpers, blanket scarves and winter boots but it means that we get a whole load of new releases! I don’t really need any more books on my TBR but I can’t help and get excited about some of these releases! Let me know what books releases you’re looking forward to in the comments below!
To Sleep in a Sea of Stars by Christopher Paolini

Paolini wrote and published the Inheritance Cycle when he was just 19, now a decade later he’s back, this time with an epic sci-fi adventure that will transport readers to the stars. To say I’m excited for this book is an understatement, and it’s fair to say that I’ll be going into this book with some high expectations, especially after how much I loved the Inheritance Cycle. I haven’t read many sci-fi novels, but it is one of my favourite film genres so I’m eager to dive into this one!
During a routine survey mission on an uncolonized planet, Kira finds an alien relic. At first she’s delighted, but elation turns to terror when the ancient dust around her begins to move. As war erupts among the stars, Kira is launched into a galaxy-spanning odyssey of discovery and transformation.
A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik

This is being pitched as a ‘dark female-lead Harry Potter’ and I’m 100% on board. Set in a school for magically gifted individuals where the punishment for not graduating is certain death, we follow El, who begins to unlock its many secrets. I’ve never read a book by Novik but hear nothing but praise for her Spinning Silver Series, so this is definitely being added to my never-ending TBR!
The Invisible Life of Addie Laurent by V.E Schwab

Schwab is one of my new favourite authors, her imagination is limitless and she has the ability to created lovable and unique characters that you can’t help but fall in love with, and by the looks of things she’s done it again with the wonderful Addie LaRue. The synopsis sounds beautifully magical and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
In a moment of desperation, a young woman makes a Faustian bargain to live forever and is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets. Thus begins the extraordinary life of Addie LaRue, and a dazzling adventure that will play out across centuries and continents, across history and art, as a young woman learns how far she will go to leave her mark on the world.
Instant Karma by Marissa Myers

I’m starting to feel really old now, it only feels like yesterday that I was reading and gushing over the The Lunar Chronicles! I’m a sucker for a good-old contemporary and I have high hopes for the romance in this book after all of my favourite OTP’s in the Lunar Chronicles.
Instant Karma, follows chronic overachiever Prudence Daniels, who is gifted with the ability to cast instant karma on those around her – both good and bad. Pru giddily makes use of the power, but there is one person on whom her powers consistently backfire: Quint Erickson, her slacker of a lab partner and all-around mortal enemy.
Skyhunter by Marie Lu

Another action packed sci-fi that tickles my fancy! I haven’t read anything by Marie Lu since her Legend series so I’m interested to see if her writing has changed. Also can we please talk about the colours on this cover; its stunning!
Talin is a Striker, a member of an elite fighting force that stands as the last defense for the only free nation in the world: Mara. But when a mysterious prisoner is brought from the front to Mara’s capital, Talin senses there’s more to him than meets the eye.
I can’t wait for A deadly education and Addie La Rue!
