My January TBR and December Wrap Up

A start of a new year and decade calls for some serious organisation, so I plan to do a wrap up and TBR for each month, and we’ll just have to see how long it lasts! I’m also trying to set realistic targets in order to maintain my reading motivation and to avoid any reading slumps!

December Wrap Up

  • The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black – I love this series and all these characters and Holly Black successfully creates a storyline that is wonderfully addictive and unique.
  • Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff – I wasn’t prepared for this series to finish, believe me when I say that I savoured every page. I was expecting a grand and fitting conclusion for Mia, and that is exactly what we received, the fight scenes we bigger, the relationships were stronger and the whole experience was unforgettable.
  • Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor – This took me so long to finish this book, not because it was bad but because the writing is so dense and packed full of beautiful metaphors and intricate details. Taylor successfully crafts a beautifully unique world filled with wonderfully developed characters but for me there was something missing, but I can’t say what. Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable and captivating read that picks up right after the shocking events of book one, throwing us gracefully back into the magical and dark world of Weep.

January TBR

  • Ravished by a Highlander by Paula Quinn – This is our book of the month for the bookclub I set up with some of my university friends. We thought we would start the year off with a trashy highlander romance and so far its wonderfully terrible, and I love it.
  • Again, but Better by Christine Riccio – I’ve really been craving a good old fashioned contemporary, and Christines book has been on the top of my TBR for a while. I remember watching her writing vlogs and I loved following her on her journey towards being published.
  • Little Women by Louisa May Alcott – With the release of the new film adaptation, I really want to re-read this book and step back into this wonderful story with all these characters. I haven’t yet seen the film but it warms my heart that its getting so many incredible reviews.
