Top Books I Want to Read By 2020

My aim for this year was to try to improve my reading habits and to read more books than last year but with just under four weeks left of 2019, things aren’t looking good! I don’t expect to read all these books but I needed a list to help keep me on some sort of track.

  1. Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff – I’m not prepared for this series to finish. I devoured the first two books in this series and now I want to savour every page because this series is utter perfection. So no pressure Jay, I’m expecting a grand and fitting conclusion!
  2. The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern – I fell in love with Morgenstern’s writing and imagination after reading the Night Circus and am beyond excited to read her next book. I’m ready to step into another one of her wonderfully magical worlds and experience another unforgettable adventure.
  3. Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson – An epic fantasy that everyone has been talking about, and now it’s my turn to jump on the bandwagon and give it a read. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this book and as one of my most anticipated reads of the year its only fitting that I read it before the year is up.
  4. Fireborne by Rosaria Munda – ‘Game of Thrones meets Red Rising in a debut young adult fantasy that’s full of rivalry, romance… and dragons.’ This book has everything I love, I just hope that it lives up to my now high expectations!
  5. The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black – After the ending of the second book, I’ve been dying to get my hands on this book, I need to know what happens! I wasn’t expecting to love this series as much as I do, so if you’re looking for a easy and magical fantasy series to start then look no further.
  6. The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson – I’m always going on about this book, it’s been sitting on my TBR pile for over a year now and I need to finish it soon otherwise it will fall further and further down the TBR hole.
  7. Muse of Nightmare by Laine Taylor – I’ve been trying to finish this book for a couple of weeks now thanks to my busy schedule, but I need to finish it soon as its preventing me from reading anything new!
  8. The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon – I received a preview of this book from NetGalley ages ago and instantly fell in love with the originality and uniqueness of its storyline as well as its compelling heroine, Paige. The Priory of the Orange Tree is also on my TBR pile but that book is a beast so I’ll save that for next year!
