5 Reason Why You Should Watch Stranger Things

If you don’t know about ‘Stranger Things’ where have you been for the past few weeks, like seriously it has been all over the internet and social media — its everywhere! ‘Stranger Things’ is set in the 80’s and is a unique supernatural drama which will have you sitting on the edge of your seat! Here are five reasons why you should binge-watch it right now…

1.The Kids

The child actors in this series are some of the best I’ve seen and are all truly incredible. Their performances are powerful yet sometimes haunting and bring these brilliant characters to life in a realistic and lovable way. The four characters who anchor the series — Mike, Eleven, Lucas, and Dustin — are all played by unknown actors but all have made their mark in the industry from their performance here and I really look forward to seeing more of their work in Season 2!

2. Winona Ryder

Winona Ryder triumphantly returns to our screens as Joyce Byers, a chain-smoking, bedraggled single mother searching for her missing son. Ryder manages to humanize a role that posed a real risk of being annoying or repetitive; Once again another incredible performance.

3. The Soundtrack

Right from the opening sequence, eerie I fell in love with the series soundtrack and score. It has an eerie but dramatic feel to it while also creating an eighties vibe to it and I highly recommend you give it a listen. The soundtrack throws you straight back into the eighties with his classic songs like “Should I Stay or Should I Go” by The Clash, or “Africa” by Toto; Just brilliant.

4. The Storyline

Another amazing element of this series as it never fails to keep you on the edge of seat thanks to it’s pacing and mysterious plot. It certainly wasn’t predictable but I loved all the subtle foreshadowing from the very first episode and I look forward to seeing where the story takes us in season 2.

5. The Throwbacks

Although I am not from the 80’s, it was great to see all the throwbacks and references to other classic 80’s films like ET and The Goonies which are some of my favorite.

I highly recommend that if you haven’t watched ‘Stranger Things’ then you should drop everything and binge watch it now! It is such an incredible show that will leave you wanting more and I feel inclined to say that it is my favorite TV show of 2016.
